FAQ - We answer your questions

I've never done embroidery before, can I do it?

When you start a new hobby, you may feel lost and lack confidence, and this is quite normal. Our mission is to create the conditions of security and knowledge that will allow you to dare to take the plunge and enjoy yourself, without stress or pressure.

The advantage of the kits is that they contain all the materials and instructions needed to complete the proposed project. First of all, you'll only need scissors to cut the thread, the rest is included. Of course, you can use our cute embroidery scissors, but simple kitchen or cutting scissors will be enough to cut your thread :-)

Then you can filter our kits by difficulty level and duration, so you know exactly what you're getting into.

All our Discovery and Easy kits are adapted to beginners. Some people will be reassured by a kit to learn the stitches, others by a quick project, or will follow their favorite. It's up to you to see what appeals to you and makes you feel comfortable. My advice would be to avoid a project that is too long for the 1ʳᵉ time so you don't get bored.

Please note that the explanations you will find in your kit will vary from one brand to another. If what you have is not enough, don't hesitate to do a simple Google search, you will find a wealth of information.

Finally, if you hesitate, do not hesitate to contact us via the form below, on the chat or on Insta!

What are the Discovery, Easy and Somewhat Technical difficulty levels?

Discovery: Very easy kits, usually with only one type of stitch and rather quick to do. Ideal to discover embroidery when you are not necessarily sure of yourself.

Easy: Kits with several types of points and/or a potentially longer duration than the Discovery category. The Easy kits are also accessible when you are a beginner! Especially if you are used to working with yarn, or simply have confidence in yourself.

A little technical: These kits contain one or more elements that are more technical than the kits in the previous categories. They can be a nice challenge when you are a beginner, but will probably be more suitable for a more experienced embroiderer. In any case, I invite you to read the description of kit, which will give you more information on the content and techniques to use.

Finally, do not forget that all these kits contain instructions and explanations. It should be noted, however, that depending on the brand, these are more or less detailed.

Make sure that the instructions are in English, this is the case for English brands. You don't need an advanced level of English, and the explanations are completed with diagrams, or even videos.

Where do the goods sold on Love and Stitch come from?

We have looked for quality material, and the brands we sell are all from the European continent. On each product page, you can click on the brand name to see a presentation of the brand.

The kits and models to embroider are proposed by creators mainly French and English. This assortment will evolve in order to integrate more Swiss brands. To date, modern embroidery is relatively undeveloped in the Confederation, and there is little offer of varied and modern products. By the way, if you are a brand looking to market your creations, do not hesitate to contact us via the form below

Will you be offering introductory embroidery classes?

It's a project that is close to our hearts, but that we can't afford to realize before mid-2023. Until then, we will propose more and more tutorials and videos on social networks, as well as blog posts. We also invite you to look for courses in your city, it is often the case :-)

I flashed on a design, but it's on backorder! Will you get it soon?

We do our best to avoid stock-outs, and if this is the case, you should know that we have probably already organized the restocking! The stock shortage may last a few days, or even one to two weeks max depending on the delivery time.

You have two ways to get information:

  • The best is to go on the page of the article you are interested in, and to leave your email to be informed as soon as it is back in stock. That way, it won't pass you by a second time ;-)
  • Follow us on Instagram: we often share this type of information in stories!

I'm not sure which kit to choose for my child, are the ages listed reliable?

The ages indicated are provided by the brands, and it must be noted that this may vary from one to another.

Our advice is to play it safe, especially if it's a first purchase: take a kit that is "too" easy for his age, or small/short. The objective is above all that the child has a good time and has fun, which will not be the case if he struggles or if the project does not end. There will always be time afterwards to take a more complicated or longer kit , if the desire is there!

If you have any doubts, don't hesitate to contact us via the chat or on Instagram.
